Looking for Business Partner

Dear All,
I have been working on my website project for over a year now.
I have knowledge of html, css and obviously drupal. I do not program in php,and so I am not a developer, well not yet.

I am looking for someone living in London (-preferably Central London-) that has experience with Drupal as developer, programmer and why not as a themer(SEO knowledge also much appreciated). The idea would be to join our forces on a couple of projects in my mind. Ideally I want to set up a partnership so at least 2 of us on a 50% share profit.

Reviving the Business Directory Group

I've followed this group for awhile, because I have created a lot of business directories outside of Drupal, and have wondered if it could be done easier and quicker within Drupal and it's vast amount of contrib modules. Well, I think it can, now that I do 90% of website development work in Drupal.

E-Commerce solution for small property website

Hi there,

I am looking for a (or the) simple (simpler) solution to implement a basic E-commerce facility in my little property website see http://www.Mega-Quick-Sale.co.uk

The idea is simple, I will receive leads from people who want to sell their property quickly and I will try to resell these leads to property investors (note I don't buy or sell properties just leads). I am considering using auctions to sell the leads to the highest bidders.

As Drupal and Drupal Shops Grow, Are NPOs Benefiting?

I am posting to ask two questions regarding nonprofits, consultants and Drupal
shops, and the general direction Drupal is headed.  In short, I'd like to
hear your thoughts on whether Drupal is heading in a direction that benefits
nonprofits or leaves many behind. I feel that I need a disclaimer: I'm asking
these questions because I don't know the answer and think some of you will have
great feedback that helps answer the questions, and more importantly improve
Drupal and its community.<br/>

  1. Is Drupal development getting too expensive, and as a result, pricing many
smaller (Drupal entry level) NPOs out?
  2. Is the professionalization of Drupal -- more modules and themes being
developed by Drupal shops for paid jobs -- causing more modules, themes and
improvements to get back to the community and Drupal.org?  Or, are more
and more improvements becoming for clients only?

The value of distribution profiles

This (somewhat old) post from Zacker does a great job summing up a catch-22 that comes along with an open source community like Drupal (allow me to excerpt):

<

blockquote style="font-style: italic">

  • most of the value created by the Drupal community that vendors and consultants rely on to sell as services to customers come from unpaid core contributions
  • many of the seasoned Drupal core hackers are getting job offers left and right to come and do Drupal consulting full time.
  • This is creating a scenario in which while many more people are paying their bills through Drupal hacking and more and more business are built around business value created by the Drupal community, it is not getting any easier to make sure the heavy lifting on core work is getting done.

What can we do now to make sure that some of the money coming into the community over the next year is put back in to supporting the core work that we as a community are relying on?
