Letter writing from website printed out and sent by regular mail (not email) seeking a module

Currently working on a christian site.

Not sure if there is a module or workaround for this.

A module that will allow users to work with the database of specified users (roles, groups, etc) and create printable formatted letters on the website.

Once the letters are printed the user hand addresses envelopes and mails, via snailmail letters to the recipent/s of the letter.

Event Registration/Ticket Sales System Specifications

Discuss this wiki here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/19770

Goals

Our goal is to create the best event registration system available.

  1. Simple for the end user to register for an event
  2. Simple for the admin to create an event. Use Case: The church secretary should be able to do it.

The goal of this document is to gather, organize, and clearly express the needs that churches (and others) have regarding event registration.

The User Side

Display Event Description and Details

Direction for this Group: Organize and Mobilize Churches to Improve Drupal

There was some talk a while back that MFer got started about finding a direction or purpose for the groups.drupal.org/churches group.

I'd like to propose a new initiative for the group: to mobilize churches that use Drupal in order to improve Drupal for churches. At the same time we would be able to contribute these improvements back to the Drupal community. g.d.o/churches could organize and server as a hub for those efforts.

Here's what I'm thinking.

Step 1 Gather Needs

Giving Back to Drupal: Reviewing Patches

Drupal, as a project, is always moving, changing, and improving from version to version. This happens when hundreds of developers work on these improvements, test them, review the changes, and work towards a well written and designed solution. The detailed reviews take longer for features to land in drupal but they are more well thought out, more well written, and documented in a much more usable fashion.

Update to Church Websites Running Drupal

The Church Websites Running Drupal wiki page has been a long standing list of church websites running drupal. Over the past couple years this list had grown into quite a long list and looked rather unorganized. This past week Stephen (aka kjv1611) cleaned up the list organizing it alphabetically with separators. It's much easier to look at and read.

Ministry Planning Website

Hey guys, I tried this with D5 and was never able to come up with a good solution. Anybody have ideas on how to accomplish this? Here's the bare minimum requirements I'd have:

<

ol>

  • Create an event/service (this part I can figure out, lol)
  • Schedule users for various positions (such as guitar, piano, etc...)
  • Add songs and other things (such as special music, offering, message, etc...) to the event. (This much I can also figure out, but I'm open to suggestions.)

    Acquia Drupal?

I have just been reading about the recently announced Acquia Drupal https://acquia.com/product-matrix

Based on their product matrix it sounds as though one may download Drupal 6.5 with most of the commonly desired modules - well tested - plus some additional custom Acquia features for free with user forum only support.

Could this be the answer that many churches are seeking to bypass the setup hassle and guesswork that a module will or will not work?
