Organizing and Scheduling Content
I maintain a Drupal newspaper website and we're looking to improve the process for soliciting and publishing articles. The goals are to consolidate the process and make things more efficient for editors and authors to collaborate, as well as to provide some organizational tools to map out when articles will be published over the coming weeks or month.
Video ad serving
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to handle video ad serving (i.e. adding things like pre-, mid- and postrolls ads into your videos)?
And, specifically, has anybody integrated the Kaltura Video Module for Drupal (http://corp.kaltura.com/) to handle this kind of thing?
Alternatley has anybody decided that using a third-party like Brightcove (http://www.brightcove.com) or Videoplaza (http://www.videoplaza.com) the best way to go for video ad serving?
Thx,
Geoff
Trouble finding format to use in Views for video gallery
I'm sure this must be a real simple issue, but for some reason I can't seem to figure it out.
I'm trying to create a simple video gallery using views. I'm using cck, image cache, filefield and the JQ media module to upload video and use it in my video gallery.
When I add my content video_field to field options and proceed to choose a format, all the image cache formats show up, but nothing for video content. When I go to the page with the video gallery view, no videos appear because I can't set a video "format". In my created content, my video shows up, but not in the view.
How to make Edition go LIVE on a particular hour?
Hi,
I'm setting up a newspaper site with the help of CCK node-reference, panels, views etc.
I have 2 basic content types: Story and Edition.
This daily newspaper is publishing 1 Edition each day. "Edition" is a content type consisting of many node-references containing Stories.
The basic content type is the Story. Roughly 20-30 are being submitted by columnists and journalists, but they must not be visible or searchable until the next day when the Edition goes live.
I need your help in sorting out how to:
Images in newspaper
Hi!
Using Drupal 6.13 .
I'm building a news site but there's one problem I don't now how to solve - the images database.
I'd like to ask You how do You do that.
I mean - site should have image database with taxonomy so that editor may search for images based on taxonomy.
So I need a module:
1. to upload many images and transforms metadata like description to tags
2. module to search through these images on the base of taxonomy
3. module that allows attaching an image from taxonomy database image.
Paths in 2 languages and block management
Hello Drupal community,
We are new to Drupal development and are developing/migrating and existing bi-lingual newspaper website to Drupal 6. Currently we are stuck with some “major”, at least we think so, problems. I would highly appreciate if the community could lead us into directions to solve any of these problems.
We are using Drupal6 with following modules: CCK, Views, PathAuto, i18n. We have CCK content type named “Article”.
Thanks in advance.
And here we go…

We would like for the paths to look like.
How to create Editions/Issues for a printed daily newspaper?
Hello newspaper experts,
I need your advice...
I've been asked to create a website for a daily printed newspaper in a small country. The budget is tiny, so I'm doing this out of sympathy. I jumped at the project only to save them from the madness of doing it through Wordpress. After all, Drupal proves it's power as the King of CMS precisely through the newspaper sites. But now I'm stuck with a seemingly simple problem:
What is the most optimal and user-friendly way to create daily Editions (Issues) which contain 15-20 articles of that day?
Stuck getting a byline nodereference field to display 2 fields (title (the author's name) and contact field)
For an online magazine with several different article content types, rather than having editors type in byline info in field_byline for each article, I'd like the byline to be drawn from a related "content type," People. So, I'm obviously setting field_byline up as a nodereference field that draws from content type People. This will make it easy to select the writer of the article from a pull-down list (or an autocomplete field), easily keep links to author contact info updated universally across the site, etc.
Report abuse links
I was interested in knowing if there are any modules/innovative ways to include a "Report abusive comment" link on the bottom of comments...
I have seen some modules with this functionality: but there development appears to have been stagnated over the past few years..
Thanks!
complex 4-column Front page layout with lots of blocks and node teasers?
Hello all,
I am trying to create a high school newspaper website using Drupal, and the front page design is quite complicated. I am trying to create block-like regions of node teasers (similar to the New York Times) in a 2-column layout in the content column. I can't figure out how to do it. I have seen questions about how to put a block of the most recent posts in a certain category, but I want to put headline node teasers on the front page with different regions based on the taxonomy term. I also need to be able to have staff reporters to easily upload their articles so that these front-page stories can be promoted to the front page. Any ideas? I have attached a very basic design of the front page (without any CCK fields or anything like that). I hope that it helps.
