I put a feeler out on a couple of listserves earlier today about starting a DC CiviCRM user group and got a good response. I went ahead and started a Meetup and am planning the first Meetup for April 22nd at 6:30pm at the Black Squirrel in Adams Morgan.

EDUCAUSE is seeking qualified candidates for two full-time positions located in either its Boulder, Colorado or Washington D.C. offices. Candidates will be part of a fun, creative team that is responsible for creating web applications atop the Drupal Content Management System.

I've worked up a skeleton of a session about building training programs for Drupalcon in DC. That's for training new users on a website, training new staff for a development handoff, training new developers on your staff, even for writing good training docs.

We're building a couple of Drupal sites. We need a developer to do some custom module development. Not a lot of work, but looking to establish a relationship with a web app developer in the area for future small projects. We've got a studio in Columbia Heights, ideally we'd like someone who wants and office/desk in exchange for a few hours of work a month. I'd like to share some quick thoughts on how Drupal Data could be described in RDF. The attached schema represents the mappings between the current Drupal data structure and the proposed RDF Schema, reusing existing ontologies such as Dublin Core, FOAF, SIOC and SKOS.

The green circles represent the Drupal objects (node, revision, user, role, term), with their equivalent RDF class. The rectangles are the values used in Drupal. It's important to differentiate a class from its actual instances (resources) which are each defined by a unique URI, see the examples below. This schema is meant to be simple, incomplete, and to show the main core features.
Comment and Node are 2 different elements in Drupal, they can be combined in the same Class with the recursive property sioc:has_reply (Comment as Node). Node and Revision objects are separate here as they are in the Drupal Data structure, but they could fundamentally be merged as well.

I presented SIOC at DrupalCon Barcelona, and showed how it can be used to describe online communities. The SIOC sioc:Item class which I used here as equivalent of a Node is a broad Class with many sub-types: AddressBook, AnnotationSet, AudioChannel, BookmarkFolder, MailingList, MessageBoard, BlogPost, BoardPost, WikiArticle...
