Certificates for Quiz Completions

Hi All,

For those of you out there that use, or plan to use, Quiz module....

I'm trying to organize requirements for a new module that would work with quiz to provide certificates (PDF or otherwise) to signify the completion of a Quiz. These could be printed, emailed, etc. I have the current specs typed up in the following google doc:
http://docs.google.com/View?id=dvc73g9_6cpvkbpdb

And this has been discussed already some over on d.o in this thread:
http://drupal.org/node/501874

There appears to be a fair amount of interest in this functionality, so I wanted to open the floor for comments here as well, before firing off development on this. Let me know what you think... missing requirements? missing use cases? bad approaches? etc...

And... my apologies for the made up username here. My normal account isn't working... despite synch requests...

Drupal Kata (our homegrown project learning program) is taking shape

Hi there -

Just to follow up for those who aren't already aware/involved (most of you), the Drupal Kata (http://drupalkata.com/) is up and running and we're starting to generate a bit of interest. That said, we're still very much in need of leaders, mentors, advisers, and apprentices in the areas of project/sprint/task management, education, business, and marketing. Developers, designers, themers, are obviously pretty key, but it helps when there are people to provide guidance.

These may be good points of entry -

drupal cursussen / drupal courses

Document management/file repository module?

Can anyone recommend a way to store files within a drupal site? We're looking at putting our school intranet on drupal. We don't need document management the way a huge corporation would; we're a small independent school (500 students). But we would like a place to put school forms, etc. Thanks in advance!

Creating folder structure and giving folderwise permissions to user.

I want to create a three level folder stucture and in the last folder in each tree pages will be created and users will have permission to access the folder depending upon the permisions given to them. The user who has access to the parent folder should have access to all its child folders. And I want apply workflow to the pages the reviewers and publishers will change according to the folder in which the page is created.
How can I achieve this in drupal?

subdomain woes

I recently wrote a custom php script to catch a grade from Flash (Actionscript2) and pass it to the gradebook. It works fine on my test installation, but when I tried to move it to a subdomain of my production site, I'm getting a failure message from line 1009 of bootstrap.inc. Seems that bootstrap.inc can not find the other include files.

Booking teacher conferences - which module or modules should I use (drupal 6 site)?

Has anyone come up with a teacher/parent conference booking system yet? Every quarter our teachers need to book conference with parents. Teachers wish to list there available times and have the parents select a time-slot and book the appointment. Is there an easy module for booking appointments? I tried booking_timeslots but it messes up my school calendar, should I use the signup module and make every time slot a node?

Help needed for small Hawaii Charter School.

Student Online Testing

I have a client who has implemented employee training within Drupal and has had much success in showing who has accessed what pages... Now he has asked me to develop an automated testing process. I envision building a tool that will allow him to create tests for each class within a Course. Is there a recommended way using modules that will allow me to create an environment where he can create on-line tests per class? The student would take these tests online and he wants to give them immediate feedback on-line after it is submitted.

Thanks for your ideas!

I'm looking for a motivated PHP developer to join a highly talented, agile team, working on one of the largest drupal sites in Europe. Working here you'll learn a lot, and be expected to contribute a lot too.

Open Atrium & Gradebook Module for E-learning Feature

Firstly congrats to the Open Atrium team its a really impressive product and I think is going to be the basis for many effective communities... Thank you for your hard work.
As we have seen with DrupalEd , organic groups make great classrooms.

I think a really useful open atrium install profile that could be an e-learning system out of the box ... would be a combination of DrupalED and Open Atrium

I am planning to do some work to try and see what I can can do with creating some education orientated features for Open Atrium around the following modules

Drupal Security - installing Drupal on an institutions servers

Hi there

I've currently been testing Drupal on my own hosting space which has been fine.

I did this because at the Unversity I work at it can be a pain to get software installed - the server guys+gals are not that happy to see me put new software on our servers (we have two dedicated to our department) - understandably their concerns are security support issues etc. I wanted to see if Drupal was for us before I went through the process of getting it installed.

Ethics and virtual textbooks

Oi,

I wrote a short paper at:

http://coredogs.com/article/professors-sell-virtual-texts-ethical-problem

on the ethics of an instructor selling his/her own virtual text to his/her own students.

Please let me know what you think (or if you see any typos :-) ).
