Deproduction, a nonprofit web design, technology development and consulting organization based in Denver, Colorado has two full-time openings for experienced PHP / Drupal developers to help develop a set of tools that will revolutionize community media.
Winner of the 2008 Knight NewsChallenge, Deproduction is seeking two developers to join our dynamic team in our effort to collect, update, and complete a set of Drupal modules designed to network and connect hundreds of isolated Public Access TV stations and Community Technology Centers, establishing a collaborative, user-driven alternative media network leveraging hundreds of thousands of hours of noncommercial media.
This is a collaborative project, developing several new modules as well as integrating existing modules and open-source solutions already developed by Public Access stations around the country. Functionality ranges from Equipment Reservation, viewer-driven voting/scheduling tool for Public Access TV. The initial phase of this project will be compiling and updating the current set of tools at Denver Open Media. Beginning in 2009, this team will shift focus to begin supporting the implementation of these tools at other Public Access TV stations across the country, with the goal of having 5-10 stations acting as a true network in 2009.
We are looking for people who:
* Have expertise in PHP, the Drupal API, MySQL, Apache, *nix, xml and experience building custom modules for Drupal.
* Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and AJAX
* Are self-motivated and has experience working in collaborative development environments.
* Live in Colorado or willing to relocate to the Denver Metro Area.
* Are philosophically aligned with the mission and values of our organization (see more below)
Bonus:
* Experience with Media Mover, Embedded Media Field, Workflow-ng, CCK (development of field modules), VotingAPI
* Actionscript and/or JQuery
* Advanced CSS / UI Drupal theming, including ability to work with browser quirks (Firefox, Safari, IE6, IE7)

Compensation:
Deproduction is a NonProfit organization, but compensation is competitive and based on experience. Employees receive a personal laptop and access to over $2million in high-end media and technology resources, production studios, and various other staff benefits.
