DrupalSouth Wellington 2010. The NZ Drupal Event
We're really excited to announce that Mac's Brewery Bar & Restaurant will be the location of DrupalSouth Wellington 2010. The Brewery bar is right on Wellington central city's waterfront, between Te Papa and the Wellington Convention Centre. Yes, that means it's less than 300 metres from Linux.conf.au Wellington 2010 which is the week leading up to DrupalSouth!

Apontamentos da reunião de dia 23 de Outubro na Cinemateca
Fomos quatro à reunião de sexta-feira na Cinemateca. Para além de mim,
estiveram o Olaf Veerman, o Hernâni de Freitas, e o João Melo, que
veio de Coimbra.
Feitas as apresentações falamos da percepção do Drupal em Portugal e
do mercado luso de desenvolvimento web (frontend e backend). O
panorama não é animador. Mas o Drupal tem possibilidades de ser uma
solução de referência cá, como já é lá fora. Sabe-se que a psique lusa
precisa de ver "lá fora" primeiro para depois acreditar em que cá
também se faz.
Nessa tonalidade o caso da Vodafone Portugal com uma instalação de
OpenAtrium para fazer uma gestão de conhecimento entre grupos de
trabalho dentro da Vodafone. Se bem me lembro, a solução inicial
incluia o MediaWiki, mas neste momento é puramente Drupal.
O Hernâni falará com muito mais propriedade que eu sobre o assunto, uma vez
que foi ele quem desenvolveu a plataforma.
A reunião acabou por durar mais de 5h. Continuámos a conversa ao
jantar.
Sobre o Drupalcamp Lx. As ideias a serem desenvolvidas:

Vou tentar fazer um sessão de denting ao vivo da reunião de amanhã no grupo Drupal Portugal da Identica.

O Drupalcamp será em Lisboa no próximo ano. Idealmente antes do
Drupalcon US e numa data suficientemente afastada do
Drupalcamp Espanha. -
O evento terá a duração de um dia com sessões em inglês e
português. As sessões em português serão introdutórias para
aumentar a percepção do Drupal em Portugal: evangelizar. As sessões
em inglês serão mais avançadas e a ideia é atrair pessoas de fora. -
O evento decorrerá durante um fim-de-semana para poder ser
"vendido" também como um evento turístico para quem venha de fora
de Lisboa e de Portugal. -
Foi adquirido o domínio drupalcamp-pt.org. Há agora que tratar de
desenvolver o site. O Drupalcamp de Lx fica em
lx2010.drupalcamp-pt.org e outros eventos que haja, por exemplo um
drupal meetup no Porto ou em Coimbra ficariam respectivamente em
porto-meetup2010.drupalcamp-pt.org

Volvimos completamente recargados con las actividades de la comunidad, después de estar concentrados con el SFD Perú 2009, éstas son las actividades que realizamos:

Proposed Local Group Page for GDO
Proposal: The front page of GDO needs links to static pages that offer information and/or assistance to users. These static pages would not exist within a specific group and would not be open for commenting. These are informative pages with useful links.
In this Wiki I would like to see us collaborate on the contents of this "local groups" page. As the page develops we may find new directives for the page and we may even discover that it needs to be split off into multiple pages. - dougvann

Drupal local groups directory
Local groups classified by world region (Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, North America) and country. (Local sites outside groups.drupal.org are between parentheses).
For organizational purposes -events, etc.- you can add optional numbers indicating size (in members) of the linked group/website. Local community sizes for counts of drupal.org users by country are linked to like this: d.o 2013. Note that there are 20 users per page on drupal.org. Multiply the number of pages (click "last") by 20 to get the total ±20.

Creating a new installation profile from the DrupalCampLA conference website
The team at This By Them worked with LA Drupal organizers to design and develop a tremendously useful conference website, and released it under the GPL (see case study). With the advent of modules such as Patterns and Features, we are now able to turn this site into customizable/configurable installation profile.
