We need modifications to an operating site made in Drupal 5 with MODIFIED core.

Files are served via private files transfer due to access protection, but this is putting a heavy load on the server due to the amount of media material on the site. The site is slow and we have been looking at several solutions.. Making a X-send file module is our idea for a solution.

Everything needs to be tested carefully on a premade testsite, as the main is live and access must not be interruptet..

The solution should also be produced quickly..

"DrupalCampLA.com was built on Drupal 6 using core & contributed modules to handle event registration, sponsorship management, featured speakers, user bio's, and session proposals. The website features an attendee driven event schedule where members propose sessions and only registered members pick which sessions they'd like to see (in the BarCamp style). Planning the schedule for the day of events has been made flexible enough to allow organizers to maintain a master schedule with ease. Not to mention that all attendees get their own schedule view with the sessions they pick."

We are an existing social networking site, in need to move over to Drupal 6.x.

We have a list of features we would like for the site, to be released in different phases. Some guidelines:

1) Existing modules that implement these features are welcome, no need to write new code.
2) The features listed aren't necessarily partitioned as modules, meaning if it makes sense to separate functionality across two or more modules (or vice versa, combining them into one), then that's fine.
